If you are of Armenian heritage, accepted to AUA’s 2015 summer program, and interested in extending your stay in Armenia beyond your studies for volunteer service opportunities, you may qualify for Birthright Armenia’s travel and homestay living assistance if you meet the following criteria:
1. Participants must be of Armenian heritage and be at least 18 years old.
2. To qualify for a partial Travel Reimbursement(50% reimbursement of agreed upon roundtrip airfare), you will need a minimum required nine week stay in Armenia distributed as follows:
a) Five weeks of the AUA Summer Program, that will include your classwork plus 10 hours of volunteerism per week with the arrangement of Birthright Armenia. A GPA of 2.0 must be maintained at AUA.
b) An additional four weeks of volunteerism, based outside of Yerevan, with the arrangement of Birthright Armenia, for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
3. Participants are also eligible to live with a family within our host family network during their entire stay, with 50% basic living expense coverage by Birthright Armenia.
4. Participants are welcome to join all Birthright Armenia program activities such as excursions, language classes, forums and more during their entire stay.
