#AG CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES STRONG AND RUNS ENTIRE MONTH OF APRIL

On April 1st we launched the #AG Campaign—a global grassroots effort to raise awareness about the Armenian Genocide. 

At the heart of this campaign are two large, black, prominent letters, an “A” and a “G” that get placed on the back of the hands in full view. 21 countries are on board already, with our BR alums in the lead as distribution centers for Armenian communities around the world!  We invite you to visit www.agcampaign.org to read all the stories that are being shared and reposted on FB, Instagram and Twitter, and then post your own. 

To join this movement, take a selfie of yourself with the tattoos showing, and post it utilizing all social media channels with the three designated campaign hashtags #AG, #AG1915, and #AG100. Please also consider changing your profile picture to your new #AG photo. 

That’s half of the necessary action, as the real raising awareness comes in here: Imagine everywhere you go in the month of April, to the library at school, grocery store, bank, gym, work and restaurants, people will be asking you the meaning behind the A & G letters on your hands, and you’ll get a 15 second sound bite opportunity to educate them about the Armenian Genocide. Think about what effect that would have with tens of thousands of us around the globe educating everyone we encounter in the course of our daily lives each and every day in the month of April!

If your organization, school or parish is interested in finding a distribution center in your community, contact us info@birthrightarmenia.am to inquire. If there isn’t a distribution center near you, two options exist: 1) we can mail some tattoos to you or 2) you can use a black marker to achieve the same effect. The only difference being that the temporary tattoos last about one week. 

#AG is off to a great start across the world as a powerful grassroots campaign via social media, one which has a strong potential to trend. Organizations, churches, schools, youth groups and businesses in the US, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Australia, Kuwait, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Russia, Turkey and Armenia are armed and ready with their tattoos and lists of friends, neighbors, co-workers, politicians, professors they will be asking to join by doing the same.
