Videography – A Skill That I Gained in Armenia

When I first came to Armenia I never thought I would be creating videos.  I pretty much exclusively worked in photography but I had knowledge in videography.  When I got to Yerevan I ended up working exclusively with videos.  I worked with several organizations but one that stood out was working with Levon Eskenian and the Gurdjieff Ensemble which is an internationally acclaimed folk instrument ensemble based here in Armenia.  I was able to work with the beautiful music of Komitas and with the amazing footage of Armenia given to us to use from Emily Mkrtichian and Alex Igisbashian who are Birthright Alumni.  It was really exciting to have the opportunity to work on a project of international importance as we were working with ECM records which is one of the major record labels in the world.  One of my favorite parts of this project is that this video will help to spread some of the most important Armenian music and culture internationally.  This is something that all Armenians should be proud of and I am lucky to have been a part off it.
